Soft skills are the life skills we use every day to communicate and interact with other people, both individually and in groups. People who have worked on developing strong soft skills are usually more successful in their professional and personal lives. We are not born with good communication skills; like any other skill, they are acquired through trial and error and repeated practice.
As part of LIFE’s commitment to scholars, we are constantly seeking to develop their soft skills to best prepare them for the world beyond academia. We successfully launched the SST pilot in 2015/2016, and we will continue to expand the programme further.

The SST mainly covers the following skills:
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Public Speaking
  • Business Etiquette
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Time & Stress management
  • Writing a CV
  • Personal branding
  • Team building and team bonding
  • Improving performance
  • Problem solving techniques

LIFE - ESA | Memorandum Of Understanding

This new partnership between ESA and LIFE aims to offer a Soft Skills Training Programme for Beirut based LIFE scholars as well as ESA students and Alumni.
By signing this MOU, LIFE is introducing a wider pool of highly qualified instructors through the ESA and its alumni network. The school is also offering its campus as a base for the SST sessions.

Marianne Boulos LIFE Scholar

The Soft Skills Training sessions organised by ESA are contributing highly to my knowledge. One example is the "Writing Effective Resumes" session by Muriel Garaud which helped me transform my resume into a professional one. The latter was very helpful considering that I am actively seeking jobs. Thank you for organising this programme and thanks to LIFE for consistently being a helpful hand.
