We are proud to announce that LIFE received “The Orphalese Outstanding Achievement Award” during the Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference (LDE) that took place in New York on September 16, 2016.

Aimed to promote the culture of entrepreneurship and strengthen the bonds between Lebanese residents and emigrants worldwide, the conference was opened, among others, by the speech of a member of our Honorary Board of Advisors US, Secretary Spencer Abraham, that linked much of his success in life to his Lebanese heritage.

Also, Marc Malek, LIFE Chairman, moderated a panel discussion about investment opportunities and diversification in Lebanon which had on it Naim Abou Jaoude, CEO of Candriam and Chairman of New York Life Investment Management International, as well as Nassim Taleb, statistician author of “The Black Swan”, and Raed Charafeddine, First Vice-Governor of the Banque du Liban, as well as others.

“Tonight I firmly confirm LIFE’s vision, which believes Lebanon to be a country best defined by a global community of more than 16 million people spread over six continents," declared Marc Malek after having received the Award. "I am honored and grateful for this recognition given to the tremendous efforts that LIFE has made since 2009 and the incredible achievements reached to date”.

Named after the island which is the setting for "The Prophet", the famous book by the Lebanese poet and philosopher Kahlil Gibran, the Award was presented during the gala dinner by H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon, Gebran Bassil, for “the work done to organise the diaspora to help Lebanon”.
