The Chatila family takes a hands-on approach to business; dealing personally with clients, directing the style of jewellery created in its workshops and supervising the stringent standard of quality control over the jewellery before it can be made available for purchase. With its 150-year history and having gained notoriety for its designs and craftsmanship, the Chatila family has established beyond question, that its jewellery is timeless and fashionable.

  • AU BORD DE L'AMOUR, 2001, by Alfred Basbous - most acclaimed Lebanese sculptor
H36x26x17 cm, Bronze Edition of 8

Alfred Basbous' works express a lifelong exploration of the human form and its abstract properties. Focused on the aesthetic principles of shape, movement, line and material, his sculptures display a deeply ingrained sincerity and a search for the essence of beauty. Working in the tradition of sculptors such as Rodin, Arp and Moore, he explores the potential of noble materials such as bronze, wood and marble to express the sensuality and purity of the human form. This aversion towards frivolous and meaningless embellishments echoes his own philosophy of simplicity and earnestness.

The Alfred Basbous Foundation was established in 2004 to foster an environment receptive to his work and bring modern arts to the attention of a growing public. The open air Museum and Garden, beautifully installed by Fadi Alfred Basbous in 2010 in Rachana, houses the collection of the artist and hosts year-round exhibitions for the art lovers and glamorous crowd to celebrate Basbous' inspiring creations.
