Nadim Ghantous, New Chair for LIFE Beirut

09 May 2016

Dear LIFE Members and Friends,
It is a pleasure to announce that our Board of Directors has appointed Nadim Ghantous as the new Chairman of the LIFE Beirut Committee.

Nadim started his career at Bank Audi (USA) in New York where he moved around the different departments of the bank for seven years. He then followed a long career in corporate banking starting with HRH Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal's United Saudi Commercial Bank before moving to Citibank - Samba, to head one of their corporate banking divisions. In 2001, following increased security risks in Riyadh, he joined Kuwait's Gulf Bank as head of their commercial banking department. In 2004, he joined Byblos Bank as General Manager to start their bank in Khartoum - Sudan, where he stayed for almost five years. In 2008, he was assigned as CEO of Byblos Bank in Syria to boost its existing activities. In 2009, he was hired by Arab Bank plc as Country Manager to Lebanon, with an assignment to rejuvenate the bank, a mission that quickly showed very positive results.

Nadim sits on several boards, namely: Housing Bank, Arabia Insurance, Arabia Insurance Syria and Arab Bank Syria among others. He is also the President of the Alumni Association of the College Louise Wegmann and the President of The Nouhad F. Ghantous Breast Cancer Foundation.

Nadim has been an active LIFE member since 2014 and was the initiator of the Social Skills Training Programme offered to the LIFE scholars in Lebanon in 2016.
