Paola Barbarino to step down as LIFE’s CEO in September

15 Jun 2016

LIFE Members, Supporters and Friends,

Paola has informed the Board of her decision to step down to pursue other interests including a plan to set up her own advisory company in the areas of strategy, governance, growth, income generation, philanthropy and fundraising. Over the last 3 years, through her energy, passion, dedication and hard work, Paola has led LIFE through a transformative stage and she clearly leaves us with a more solid and stronger organization than the one she found at her arrival and we want to thank her for that on behalf of everyone at LIFE. Paola will certainly remain an ambassador-at-large for our organization.

One of Paola’s legacies will be the very talented and dedicated staff she has hired into the organization. We are fortunate at LIFE to be served by such an accomplished team who will make this transition process that much smoother.

The Board is already hard at work to find Paola’s successor and in that respect any suggestions will be warmly appreciated. We have set up a sub-committee of the Board made up of myself, George Bitar, Naim Abou-Jaoude and May Nasrallah to spearhead that effort. In the meantime Paola will stay with LIFE until September and she looks forward to saying goodbye to as many as you as possible in person during this period.

The Board has set up a second sub-committee to oversee the management of the organization, work side by side with Paola initially then take over the leadership of the organization during the transition period. The members of that subcommittee are myself, Spiro Youakim, Mohammed Choukeir and Wahid Chammas. This is an excellent opportunity for the Board to review the needs of LIFE and set it on a solid course for its next stage of development.

With best wishes,

Marc Malek

Chairman of the Board
